| Oak, Bog: Europe. Color dependent
on duration of submersion. These rare examples of 1000-5000 year
old, or more, logs that have fallen into peat bogs or gravel pits
with all the right criteria for oxygen starvation, thus resulting
in old growth flitches that darken to a chocolate/brown, charcoal
gray to totally black color. $1.00-2.50. |
| |
| Oak, Chestnut: USA. In the White Oak family, these
logs can produce some very exotic grain patterns. Unique logs, they're
something different
than just plain old oak. $0.50-1.00. |
| |
Oak, English Brown: England. Tan to dark brown
with good strong flake figure. Very difficult to secure large logs.
Prices are very
volatile, so please call.

| |
| Oak, Red, Rift Cut: As above, but
sequential straight grained bundles! Yield tends to be low in rift
cut, so add a good
waste factor. $0.75-1.00. |
| |
Oak, Red, Quartered/Flake: Usually
single bundles 4-6" wide. Sequence available on request, but
can be hard to get in large runs. $0.50-0.75.

| Oak, White, Rift cut: Comb grained,
straw colored and sequenced for large runs of even grained, no flake
panels. Only
the best logs get selected for rift! However don't be bashful about
adding a heavy waste factor because yield tends to be low in rift
cut! $0.75-1.50. |

| |
| Oak, White, Quartered/Flake: Straight
